Hello my dears!
So, I realized I haven't written anything in a while and I'm sorry about that. I guess I was still so heated about what my last post was talking about that I couldn't really concentrate on anything else. I knew that Summer was almost here and that would mean a whole two-three months without saying the pledge everyday with my peers. I'm sure many won't even notice, but I think I will.
On to new things. I love reading the blogs of my favorite writers and well of writers whose books I have yet to read but hope to soon. They offer such great advice. In fact it was advice I came across that got me to actually write my book. The writer, I'm sorry I don't remember who it was, had said to type this out and put it somewhere you can see it everyday. "Don't get it Right, get it Written." Wow, how true is that? I did just as she said, and I've written three full-length novels since then. I am working on a new one right now. I started writing it (this does not count the time I took to figure out what would happen during the whole story mind you) last Friday or Saturday. Since then, I am at a little over 20,000 words. I think that is pretty cool.
I can't even tell you how exhilarating it is to write this book. I find each better and more exciting than the last.
Let me tell you my schedule for every day.
4:30 :: Wake up and get ready
4:45 :: Write
5:50 :: Go to Church Youth Class (starts at 6:00)
7:00 :: Go to School (try to have fun)
2:00 :: Get home from school and do homework, if any, if not, start writing
3:00 :: Work
6:00 :: Dinner with the 'rents
7:00 :: Write some more
9:30 :: Bed
Repeat
Surprisingly, I'm not tired. Since I've been getting up at 4:30, I have actually gotten so much more done. I make it a minimum to write at least one chapter a day. Sometimes I get more than that, and it's great (though for this book that has yet to happen, remember school can get crazy around the end of the school year). I have found that even though I don't believe the morning should start until after 12:00 P.M. I am able to write exciting scenes and they are intense. I sometimes have to take a few minutes to calm down from hyperventilation.
I have also found that if I can actually write fairly fast, AKA get a whole chapter done in about 45 minutes if I just ignore all of the distractions. If I can just tune out everything else, the words just fall out as if I was reading them, or they were being told to me. It's great.
But, when I tell my friends I get up at 4:30, they just look at me like I'm crazy, and I sometimes have to agree with them. You see, when my alarm from my iPod goes off, I have a two minute conversation with myself which goes something like this:
*alarm goes off* *groan* *puts pillow over head*
I'm so tired, I think I will sleep in a little. I can do that. I'm a high school student, I shouldn't need to get up this early. I can always write after school.
But then you will need to write that much more. By getting up now, you won't have to write a whole chapter when you get back home.
I'm tired.
Do you want to be a writer?
Yes.
Then, surprise, you have to write. Just do it. Listen to Nike.
I don't wanna.
Do it now, or you will regret it.
*shuns voice in head*
(After a minute) fine, I will, but I will sleep in tomorrow.
You keep telling yourself that.
Yeah, that goes on every morning. Especially this morning. Let me explain. I have a Shakespeare class which I adore. I love it and my teacher to death. We have just finished reading Othello (for those who don't know, READ IT!, Othello is an outsider married to the prettiest girl. He makes an officer who is below him mad, his name is Iago. Iago decides to wreck Othello's life by making him believe Desdemona, the pretty girl, is cheating on him. So what does Othello do? He believes Iago and kills his wife. Yeah, it's a good thing nothing that that happens today *cough*.). The thing was we had an assignment to make it a story which would be appropriate to read to children. Personally I found that it was just fine the way it was. Kids hear stuff like that all the time.
No, just kidding. So my friends and I made it a story book where Othello was a geek and the captain of the basketball team. I was the artist and the writer. My pictures were stick figures. They looked awesome. So, the whole thing took forever to finish because I had to work right in the middle of it and didn't get home until 10:30 or so.
All in all, I didn't get to be until around midnight. So, I only had four and a half hours of sleep. No biggie. Whatever. Well, I really am not all that tired minus the yawning, and falling asleep. Don't worry, it's cool.
So that is all for me for now. I hope to speak again soon when something obnoxious or cute happens to me. Stay tuned.

I am proud to be an American
Let's just say this right now. This post, as are all of the, is my own personal opinion. I understand that not everyone will agree with me, but this is my blog and I can do what I want HA!!
I am proud to be an American. I am so proud that I was born in the great country with the freedom colors Red, White and Blue. Now, I am not planning on going into the military, but I believe I am very patriotic. I say the pledge everyday and will never be caught harassing or disgracing members of our military.
Sometimes, ok all the time, it bugs me when people who live in the country do not believe in respecting it. One thing that really gets on my nerves is when my school says the Pledge of Allegiance. I understand that not everyone wants to or feels comfortable with saying it, and I totally respect that, but maybe you can stand and take your hat off in respect for the country that gives you that exact right? Just an idea. Or even worse in my opinion. When other students come in late and do not stop at the door to continue the pledge. Nope, they just walk right on by as if they have better things to do.
If I may, I came across an amazing video of Red Skeleton speaking of the importance of our country.

There, doesn't that explain it nicely (Of course, not referring to the lack of the whole 50 states, but you get the idea). I hope this helps us all remember those same feelings of unity we felt during and after 9/11. We must remember, "United we stand, divided we fall."
Have a great week!!
