Excited. . . all for nothing!!

Twitter? Yeah, I like it. It's fun to see people squeeze their lives into 140 characters. It allows us to come up with acronyms like ISADMTAHTBANO (I Sneezed And Dropped My Taco, And Had To Buy A New One). I kid you not.
Anyway, it is fun because I get to follow some of my favorite authors and see what is going on in their life. For instance, Ally Carter is currently weighing the pros and cons of building a pool. Will she build one? Most likely.
Then, there is of course the matter of followers. It's strange to say the least. It's not quite like having friends on Facebook. These people on Twitter follow you because they want to see what you have to say about your dog eating rat poison, or your book case suddenly dying and you have to find a safe refuge for your books.
It goes to show that while we may think our lives are boring, people enjoy hearing the small things. When I read about a published author having problems that seem similar to me it makes me realize that they are indeed human just like myself.
In the spirit of Twitter, I looked today to see that I had a following request from what I believed was Laini Taylor. I was rather excited. To think that Laini Taylor wanted to follow me!!! Then I realized it was the twitter for the official release of her book. Not quite as cool as Ms. Taylor herself, but hey, still pretty cool.

Onto other news, I discovered this morning that I enjoy walking on my treadmill as long as I have a book in my hands! That book happens to be my NOOK! And boy am I happy! All for now!

Yes, I am alive!

Good Morning World!!

The blog has been quiet for several reasons.
1. I was in Yellowstone (read majorly long road trip) and had no internet service. As much as I love the internet, it was great to have a week long trip where I didn't have to answer emails. I do have a few pictures which should totally be featured in National Geographic (not that I'm biased or anything) but in order for me to post them, I would have to save them to my laptop, and that would take effort. . . .

2. My dog had a stroke. Or at least, we were pretty sure she had. She was upstairs when she collapsed. It was very scary. We got her downstairs and outside where she proceeded to throw up. When she was done, she began to walk around like a drunk sailor, except for the fact that she is a dog. Anyway, when we got her to calm down, I noticed that her eyes were moving back and forth rapidly. I looked up her symptoms and decided that she has a disease that basically screws up an animal's inner ear. This leads to a motion sickness feeling which would explain the throwing up. Luckily, she went to sleep and when she woke up, she was completely normal. Her eyes were able to focus and she was jumping around like a puppy despite being an old lady!

3. I have been trying to write again. It is always hard to go on a vacation without any schedule to follow and suddenly come back home and try to do your normal things. Yeah, so my whole getting up early in the morning is not working out so well lately. But, it will get better! I promise.

4. I love reading, this is no secret! I bought something that will allow me to carry thousands of books at a time. No, it's not a Kindle, it's something much better! The All New NOOK!! I love it with a passion I didn't believe was possible. The reason I love it better than the Kindle (my friend has a Kindle, so I feel I am justified in making this argument!) is that it has a touch screen rather than a button. There are four buttons on either side that allow your to 'turn' the page and that is enough for me. I have read quite a few books already. It is just so much easier to carry this NOOK around than a book.

So that is why there haven't been any real blog posts. So instead of trying to make those up, I will give you something better. If you would like a new fantasy book to read, please pick up the Heir Series by Cinda Williams Chima. The series is amazing and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Talk about the magical guilds! There are great characters as well as a plot that just won't stop!

I do believe that is it for now. I hope you have a great weekend, I know I will. Writing, here I come!!

I'm Back World!

OK, so I haven't posted for a while because I haven't been anywhere a computer with internet source. Yeah, that's right, I was on a road trip. I will post pictures, if I think about it, soon. I don't have much to write about, hopefully sooner than later.
I am very far behind with my work in progress, but hopefully it will work itself out sooner than later.
All for now, have a great day while I spend it working.

Where I talk a bit and then send you somewhere else.

Ouch.
That is all I have to say. I entered a little 'contest' thing (but it's not really a contest because there is no real prize unless an agent likes your work and asks for more info and such (which would totally be considered a prize by me!)) where I put the first 250 words of a novel I have recently written and waited for critique. And boy did I get it! It hurt, it felt harsh, but you know what? I have read so many blogs of authors I love and they all say the same thing. If you can move past the hurt, and take the critique into consideration, it can really help your writing. Yeah, as I said, it hurt, but I was prepared for that. I knew people wouldn't like it. Did I have false hope that everybody would ask me why I wasn't yet published? Oh yeah, but what new writer doesn't. Instead, this has given me a much needed reality check and advice on how to write things from now on. I can genuinely say that I appreciated the harshness of the critique. I will admit that the people who added they liked the character and 'good luck' to the ends of their comments are now officially my favorite!
And now I will send you somewhere else. I love reading author's blogs. I have a select few I check everyday because I love hear (uh reading) what they have to say. Some of them, I haven't even read their books, but I really really want to soon! So here we go. Go see the amazingly funny and amazing advice giver Veronica Roth! She has amazing advice!

Have a great day. I know I will.

and now I'm back to writing!

Happy Freedom Day!

Good Morning

I am writing this one the most historical day for our nation. In case you can't read the date listed above, it is July 4th. I have already expressed how much love I have for my country. It is just an amazing place. We are free here. We have the right to worship in whatever way we choose. we may say what we want to say, think what we want to think. I can not imagine a better place to live.
There are many people in our country that complain about how things are run. I must admit that there are many things with our government with which I do not agree, however, I am amazed time and time again that I have the right to disagree. I think that so many people today do not realize that the government they complain about is the same one that gives them the freedom to do so.
Tomorrow will be a great day. I am hoping to do some shopping with my friends, watch a few movies, have an amazing lunch/dinner, and watch fireworks from my front yard. When I watch the fireworks, I can't help but think of our National Anthem.

"Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"

". . . the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air," I just love it. It makes be think of the fireworks that light the night sky.
How grateful I am for those men and women who fight and die for my freedom. They work so hard, many giving their lives so that I can live freely. I would like to publicly thank the military men and women. You are angels here on earth. May God continue to bless you and your families.

I hope you all have a great holiday. Spend some time with your family. Have a great barbecue, and have fun! God bless America!

Summer = Catching up on everything. Including my teeth.

Hello,

So, let me just start out by saying, I hate going to the dentist. I really do. I don't like it when metal things go into my mouth to prod around in there. It is very uncomfortable. Especially when the lady who is cleaning your teeth is nice, but a little rough. my mouth is so sore it's not funny.
But on another note, when I walked into the office, I signed in and then sat down in one of their chairs. From the dark abyss that lay before me, I could hear the machines whizzing, and I'm pretty sure I hear a cry for help.
while I was sitting there, a man was finishing up his trip to the dentist, and he was making small talk with the receptionist. Their farewell went as follows:

Receptionist: Good by Hank! See you next time.
Hank: Thanks Molly, hey, have you been shooting lately?
Molly: No, I still have two dead ones in my freezer.

Molly and Hank shoot what? I have no idea, but it was so not what I wanted to hear while waiting to have judgement passed on me.

Now, I am going to go and have a big bowl of sugary candy so as to make me feel better. I know, my dentist loves me.

Summer = Movie Time!!

You know? I love books, I really do. In fact, I don't know where I would be without my own little books that sit onmy own little bookshelf in my own little room. At many times, books were all I had. I needed them. When I was supposed to be cleaning my room at a young age, I would read a book instead (In fact, I still do that. . . shhh don't tell my mom (but I think she pretty much already knows)).
So having said that, the fact that I love books, I would like to talk about another love. Movies. Seriously. While there is something about sitting down to read and imagine an amazing world, nothing can take away from sitting in front of a screen with a bowl of popcorn. It is pretty cool.
Again, I realize that many people do not like movies because they believe movies are taking out our ability to use our own imaginations. Do I agree? Sure. But only if someone is glued to the screen 24/7. That would be a really awkward phone call to the doctor, I'm just saying.
Sometimes, people need to take a break from one thing or another. That could be books, movies, extremely cute boys that a girl shouldn't even bother liking, etc. Breaks are good, healthy even.
So for a girl like me, who loves to read books, to watch a movie is a real treat. It's even better when it's in the movie theaters, and I'm surrounded by friends.
I was going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie tonight, but my friend is getting her wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow, so we decidedto hold off. So instead of going to see a new movie, I decided to talk about my new favorite movie. You have probably all heard of it. If not, go watch it. NOW. That was an order.

Drumroll Please!

That's right. My new favorite movie is Tangled. I seriously love it all. I love how modern the language is in a medieval setting. I love the music, and I love the chameleon. Seriously, that little lizard made it for me. I love Flynn, or should I say Eugene. :) He is just amazing. I am in love. This is probably why I do not have any current love interest that is interested in me. I am too focused on Disney princes. Oh well. I suppose it's a teenager thing. So having said that. I think I will just go watch this amazing movie. I love it!!

have a great weekend!
